The Sift Bosses in Minecraft — Every Confirmed Boss
Every confirmed boss in Minecraft's Sift dimension: the Monarch, the Sculk Monstrosity, and the Harmonizer — their Dungeons 2 fights, and what's announced.
The Sift has three confirmed bosses: the Monarch, the Sculk Monstrosity, and the Harmonizer. All three were confirmed at the September 2026 Minecraft Live reveal, and all three are fightable today — but only inside Minecraft Dungeons II, which shipped the Sift on September 29, 2026. The vanilla version of the dimension arrives on Java and Bedrock in 2027, and Mojang has not yet detailed how (or whether) these bosses carry over. This guide covers what each boss is, how its Dungeons II fight actually works, and exactly what remains unannounced for vanilla.
Our Sift mobs guide covers the dimension's non-boss inhabitants — the Sifters — separately.
The Three Sift Bosses at a Glance
| Boss | Type in Dungeons II | Confirmed By | Vanilla 2027 Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Monarch | Story boss (quest: Wrath of the Sculkers) | Minecraft Live aftershow, Sept 26, 2026 | Not announced |
| Sculk Monstrosity | Story boss (quest: A Monstrosity in the Meadow) | In game since launch | Not announced |
| Harmonizer | Mini-boss (side quest + open-world spawn) | In game since launch | Not announced |
One framing note before the details: everything below about health, damage, and weaknesses comes from Dungeons II game data, where the Sift is playable now. The vanilla Sift is a different build of the same dimension — Mojang has shown only a short teaser with Blub and the pink-grass landscape. Treat the Dungeons II fights as the definitive current source and the vanilla behavior as unknown until Mojang says otherwise.
The Monarch — the Sift's Story Boss
The Monarch is the boss most tied to the Sift's identity: a tall, regal sculker boss confirmed during the Minecraft Live September aftershow, with gameplay shown on stage. In Dungeons II it anchors the quest Wrath of the Sculkers inside a Sift dungeon.
How the fight works in Dungeons II (per the game's data and documentation):
- Arms and body attacks — the Monarch swings its arms and twirls its body to damage nearby heroes, leaving spectral afterimages that mimic its attacks.
- Summons — it roars to summon two stalkers and two scavengers, and cannot re-summon while they're alive. Clearing the adds re-arms the ability.
- The Echo — at 75% health remaining (it has lost a quarter), the Monarch summons a monarch echo: a spectral clone capable of the same attacks. Killing the Monarch kills the Echo instantly — so the strategy is to ignore the clone, focus the original, and let the Echo drop as a consequence. Jump attacks are specifically noted as effective in this fight.
- The achievement for winning is Regicide ("Defeat a monarch") — a hidden achievement, which is why its name surfaced via Steam data before the reveal.
For vanilla 2027: nothing is announced. Whether the Monarch, its echo mechanic, or its summons appear in Java and Bedrock — and in what form — is unconfirmed.
Sculk Monstrosity — the Sculk Golem Boss
The Sculk Monstrosity is a large golem-like boss fought in the Sift, tying the dimension's lore together: the corrupted sculk that invaded the Deep Dark is said to originate here, and this boss is that ecosystem's heavy. In Dungeons II it's story boss 6 of 10, fought in the quest A Monstrosity in the Meadow.
Its Dungeons II numbers (from game data, build 1.1.1.0):
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Base health | 2,000 (solo, before scaling) |
| Co-op health | 4,000 (2P) / 5,600 (3P) / 7,200 (4P) — health scales × party size |
| Hardest hit | Melee Final — 35 base damage, 6-block reach |
| Weak to | Fire (+50% damage) |
| Resists | Soul (−35%) |
| Signature abilities | Red Stone Cube Summon, Catalyst Summon, Charge, Redstone Projectiles (20×3) |
| On-hit effect | Attacks can apply Soulsick |
The practical fight plan: bring fire damage (+50% is the biggest weakness multiplier among the story bosses), avoid soul-damage gear (−35%), and dodge-roll the 35-damage Melee Final. First-completion quest rewards include the Phantom Wing, Sculker's Bane, and Soul Harvester.
For vanilla 2027: not announced. The Deep Dark connection makes it a natural fit for the vanilla Sift, but Mojang has said nothing about which Dungeons II bosses make the jump.
Harmonizer — the Sift's Mini-Boss
The Harmonizer is the Sift's mini-boss: a massive sprout variant — the same species as the gentle seedling mobs — grown into a hostile battlefield controller. Its name (community-documented from a game file before launch) continues the dimension's sound-and-music theme: Lullaby Hills, Singer's Meadow, Echo Den. Worth knowing: minecraft.wiki itself flags the "Harmonizer" name as speculative community naming, so treat it as the working name, not gospel.
Its Dungeons II fight, from game data:
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Base health | 620 (solo, before scaling) |
| Co-op health | 1,550 with 4 players (×2.5) |
| Hardest hit | Area Slam — 30 damage within 4 blocks of impact, from up to 6 blocks away |
| Weak to | Blast (+25%) and Melee (+10%) |
| Resists | Soul (−25%), Ranged (−20%) |
| Signature abilities | Lifelink beams, Gravity Well vortex, Shrieker summons, Enrage on death |
What makes the fight interesting is the lifelink: the Harmonizer tethers beams to up to eight nearby Sifters (Nesters, Seedlings, Sentinels, Pollinators) and heals them 20% of their max health per second, keeping them above 10% HP. Damage to the Harmonizer breaks the links — damage to the linked mobs doesn't. The fight is a target-priority puzzle: break the source, not the symptoms. Its Gravity Well spawns a purple orb that drags heroes in; jumping continuously escapes it. And when it dies, it enrages nearby Sifters with speed, HP, and regeneration buffs — so clear the adds before the last hit.
For vanilla 2027: not announced. Note that Minecraft Live's reveal materials described the Sift's natives as non-hostile in the base game — how a hostile mini-boss reconciles with that framing is exactly the kind of question 2027's updates will answer.

What's Still Unannounced (Honest Gaps)
- Vanilla boss behavior — whether all three, any, or reworked versions arrive in 2027 is unannounced
- Vanilla combat stats — no health, damage, or loot values exist for the vanilla game; all numbers above are Dungeons II data
- The Harmonizer's final name — minecraft.wiki flags it as speculative; official naming may differ
- Boss arenas in vanilla — Mojang has shown the dimension's landscape but no boss rooms
